“It's fun! But not as fun as Season 4 was..."

HOW I PLAYED: I played via PC on Battlenet. Using my R7 7800X3D, RTX 3080 PC. I purchased Diablo IV on prerelease and have played Seasons 1.2 and 4 previously.

WHAT'S NEW?
Diablo IV season 5 have introduced a bunch of new features such as
- New "Mythic Unique" items
- Infernal Hordes
- Mothers Reputation

The new Mythic Unique items are super rare and I didn't have a single one drop in my grind to lvl 100. You can also craft Mythic Unique items at an alchemist but you need to have a super rare item that only drops from Tortured Bosses and higher tier "Infernal Hordes".

Infernal Hordes did add a new way to grind levels super fast rather than just relying on Helltides or Nightmare Dungeons. It does require a special item drop to be able to access the infernal hordes, which I find annoying. I wish some of these features were more easily accessible instead of having to grind for large amounts of time for specific item drops (maybe I just need to Git Gud tho... 🤔).

Mother's Reputation is kind of like the Tree Of Whispers, where enemies drop an item that gradually builds up your reputation with an NPC. After time you can acquire different "Mothers Gifts" gradually the more of this item you obtain. But naturally grinding Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons you will have no problem acquiring this item. I got the maximum gift by the time I reached lvl 90.

WHAT WAS MY BUILD IN SEASON 5?
I went with a Sorcerer build, since in season 4 I did a Necromancer. I wanted to try something fun that I could do range combat with. I followed a guide for a "Firewall" build that was quite effective and I didn't struggle at all throughout my playthrough. I was able to get into World Tier 3 at Level 30 and World Tier 4 at level 55. When I was in WT4 I found Helltides difficult at first, but I just switched to grinding Nightmare Dungeons to build up my damage and survivability.

CONCLUSION
Season 5 keeps the trend going of better seasons for Diablo IV! It's fun! But not as fun as Season 4 was and I felt the levelling was faster in season 4. I still appreciate the fun time and free content Diablo IV is delivering, it also feels like Blizzard has learned their lessons from Season 1-3. I don't know if I will be doing another lvl 100 character, maybe until the expansion releases later this year.
