Happy 2025, everyone!
We’re checking in with some exciting updates about the website and our YouTube channel! This year is shaping up to be a big one, and we can’t wait to keep bringing you the best game review content possible.
We’re making a few tweaks to our review scoring system. After analyzing the data, we noticed some scores weren’t aligning perfectly with our expectations, and we were leaning too heavily on certain ratings. To fix this, we’re clarifying our criteria, especially for 5/5 and 4/5 scores. Our goal is to make the system as objective as possible and minimize personal bias. Transparency is key for us, so we’ll always be upfront if we’re new to a genre or haven’t played previous entries in a series.
We’re also introducing “Impressions”—shorter, more casual takes on games we don’t finish. Sometimes we play games that don’t make it to the end of our backlog, but we still want to share our thoughts without assigning a full review score. We think this will be a fairer way to discuss those experiences.
